The Ultra Toad: Slimy & Disgusting Sexuality!
“Any sex is good sex!” When I first heard this, it was attributed to Woody Allen. In that case, it took on a different tone later in his life that was far less comedic! As it was, the phrase, in some form, was originally attributed to Oscar Wilde, the Irish writer and playwright whom also said: “Everything in the world is about sex - except sex.” That will get you thinking for a while. Nonetheless, for the Ultra Toad, sex is everything - it’s the gold ring you touch on the merry-go-round, the notch on the belt, a trophy that must quickly be replaced with another hunt. Power, domination, one person’s needs triumph over all others.
THE ULTRA TOAD: This is an ugly toy. When I found it at Toys R Us years ago, it was one of a group of 6 Movie Maniac toys, but the only one that didn’t appear to be selling. A close-up examination easily explained why parents would steer away from this toy that originally represented The Fly. He has green slime, a phallic tongue, and is also over-endowed. His base is covered with suspicious droppings and his hands seem ready to clamp on to anything he wants to possess and manhandle! This is instinctual sexuality contaminated by what has been pushed into the core: revenge, anger, anxiety, needs, jealousy, unresolved trauma, the desperate need for mirroring, etc. It can be freed up to do its ugliness by alcohol and drugs and can act without limits or reason.
There is a Renoir painting called the Wedding Dance.I used to have it on my office wall. A student of mine at Metro State University, hated that painting – she said it represented to her a drunk man dancing with someone against their will at a wedding dance – detestable. The Ultra Toad just wants to have sex and goes about it any way he can, a lot like Mr. Harvey Weinstein, who is in prison now. Notice his tongue, his groin, the green slime oozing off his body that women often speak of when talking about a guy like this. Nothing human here, just a predator and slime ball. And this came from the movie, The Fly – yes, out of the fly comes the Ultra Toad! We need a “No Fly Zone” to deal with him and his heartless machinations! We need to keep the fly zipped in regards to this ugly creature.
And here’s one thing I ran across many times in treatment: that offenders didn’t fully realize how they looked in their victim’s eyes: how ugly, undesirable, and despicable. Sometimes it was shocking for them to come to that realization and how it differed from their fantasy about themselves. But, it makes sense: in order to do the kind of things the Ultra Toad does, you have to blot out self-awareness and overshadow your conscience with a fantasy of power and desirability.
